Rick Hood, Chairman
Rick retired as President CSX Real Property, Inc., the real estate arm of CSX Transportation, Inc., after a 36-year career with one of the country’s leading railroad companies. As president, Rick led a department of real estate professionals that provided real estate and facilities services to internal customers.
In the effort to maximize real estate assets for the company’s shareholders, Rick was involved with the sale and lease of surplus real estate and the acquisition and permitting of land to support railroad infrastructure and terminal developments. He was also instrumental in evaluating the utilization of railroad rights of way to generate revenue from utility and fiber optic occupancies and managing a joint venture hotel and residential developments.
Rick’s volunteer experience includes 17 years on the First Florida Credit Union board serving as a past chairman and in the role of chairman of various committees. He also volunteers weekly with the Mandarin Presbyterian Church Daily Bread Food Pantry in support of the church’s efforts to combat food insecurity in its community.
